Designed with Patient Comfort In Mind
Years of experience with post-operative care helped us create a smarter, more comfortable solution for patients who are required to wear a sling.
Real Patient Feedback
Snugly was born from countless patient conversations — and it shows in the results.
Better padding, breathable materials
Local craftsmanship to help ease many of the difficulties encountered during recovery.
At Downeast Surgical, we’ve spent decades in operating rooms and working directly with orthopedic patients here in Maine. Through years of assisting with shoulder surgeries and supporting recovery, we noticed a consistent frustration: patients hated wearing their post-op sling. Neck pain, itchy fabric, pressure points—no matter how necessary the sling was for healing, the discomfort made recovery harder than it needed to be. So we set out to solve that problem. That’s how Snugly was born.
Snugly starts with our neck pad, made from genuine luxury mattress memory foam and wrapped in ultra-soft fleece. It cushions the neck and shoulders, reducing the strain from the sling strap and replacing it with plush comfort. Think of it as the cozy, hug-like support you never knew you needed during recovery.
Snugly was designed with outdoor Mainers in mind — the kind of folks who hike, haul, and keep moving no matter the weather. Built from durable, high-quality materials and crafted right here in Maine, each Snugly pad delivers comfort that stands up to real life. Whether you’re recovering from shoulder surgery or just navigating another rugged Maine season, Snugly keeps you supported, comfortable, and ready for whatever’s next.
We didn’t stop there. Patients also struggled with itching and irritation where the sling contacts the elbow and forearm, so we created a custom-fit elbow and sling pad. Made with soft memory foam and the same smooth material used for high-quality leggings, it forms a breathable, protective “nest” that reduces pressure and keeps your arm comfortable for the weeks you need to heal.
Every Snugly product is proudly handcrafted in the USA by a small family business—no mass-produced materials, no shortcuts. Our goal is simple: make recovery more comfortable so you can focus on healing. Or, as we like to say here in Maine: “Well, ’bout ‘magin that fixes it!”
